Dealing a poker hand at a table is way too easy for members of Palm Coast Yacht Club. Our September 30 Poker Run called for boaters to receive their cards in envelopes at the docks of other members.
That means someone on shore or in a docked boat has to use a fishing net to get an envelope containing one playing card into each boat.
It took nearly two hours for the boaters to collect all 5 of their cards. But no one was complaining. It was a great day on the water and none of the cards fell into the canals.
The captains let off their passengers at the dock at Yacht Habor Village Marina where they were met by PCYC treasurer Andy Boothe.
Then it was time to meet up with other members who were waiting in the Lure lounge to welcome the players with snacks and beverages.
When the three Captains arrived, it was time to open the envelopes and compare the hands.
RadioActive Captain Bill Schwartz won with two pair. His prize was a log book, a $25 gift card to West Marine and a “2021 Poker Run” tote bag donated by member Mike Ferreira.
Congratulations to Bill and thanks to all the members who worked to make this event a real success!
